Professor Ross has been published world wide in magazines such as The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Time, Newsweek, Wired.com, COLORS, La Republicca, Harpers, Le Monde, Vogue etc. His recent body of work, Juvenile-In-Justice, has been presented before US Senate Committees and the US Supreme court impacting the discussion and public policy regarding youth in the Criminal Justice system. As well as an upcoming book for Juveniles-In-Justice, Ross has spoken at national conferences for the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiatives, Women in Legislature and the American Bar Association and the American Institute of Architects. The work is currently showing at the Nevada Museum of Art, Ronald Feldman, and The High Museum and will continue to travel in the next two years. The American Society of Magazine Editors nominated the work as a finalist as best photojournalist spread of the year 2011. His work has been featured on NPR, PBS News Hour and is scheduled for upcoming features on CBS Evening News and The Huffington Post.
Ross has taught at the University of California, Santa Barbara since 1977.
